Our Training Facility
Welcome to Our Studio
Everything you need, and then some ...
Meticulously designed by USAPR founder Sandy Reid, our training studio is unlike any rigging loft in the world. His idea was to create a purpose-built playground, and he succeeded.
Our space is fully stocked with top-of-the-line equipment, materials, supplies and resources in order for candidates to feel inspired to further their progression, to be enriched by hands-on learning experiences, and to be excited about their future as an elite rigger.
The Space
USAPR is housed in a 3,100 square foot building with 2,600 square feet of dedicated loft space. Here, we engage in four areas of training: canopy repair and overhaul, suspension line work, container repair and alteration, and harness repair and alteration. We also have a 36 foot packing table for squares and rounds, and space for independent study, inspection, and testing.
The Gear
We furnish all requisite equipment, materials and supplies for Senior and Master Rigger certificates, Advanced Skills courses, and Additional Ratings opportunities. We have 10 sewing machines; a diverse array of modern and vintage parachute systems for training and familiarization, including 15 back, 6 chest, and 4 seat; and an extensive inventory of specialized tools.
The Resources
With more than 90 years of collective rigging experience, we not only have an incredible amount of knowledge to impart but we also have an extraordinary library of reference materials, including parachute manuals and instructional guides. We are delighted to share our wealth of resources with candidates for use during rigging courses and for independent study.
