Civilian and military personnel who have completed testing prerequisites can engage with a USAPR Designated Parachute Rigger Examiner (DPRE) to complete oral and practical tests and earn certificates.

Duration
- Half-Day to 2 Days, depending on certificate and type ratings

- FAA Rigger Written Test – $250
- FAA Senior Rigger Oral & Practical Test (Back Rating) – $450
- FAA Written Exam (if not Senior Rated) – $250

PREREQUISITES
- All candidates must be at least 18 years old and provide valid, government-issued photo identification. See FAQs for acceptable forms of ID.
- Senior Rigger candidates must present proof of minimum 20 reserve back type parachute packs under supervision of an FAA rigger.
- Master Rigger candidates must present logbooks showing a minimum of 100 each of two types of reserve packs (back and chest, or back and seat) under supervision of an appropriately-rated FAA rigger. Packs can be self-supervised if the candidate is already rated for that type.
- Military candidates without a rigger logbook must present an original letter on unit letterhead signed in ink or digitally by the Commander as proof of experience.
